GlobalEgMus web page: Statuette of a brewer stirring mash The statuette represents a standing man with his pegged arms outstretched one over the other, a fragment of a stick is preserved in the right hand. He wears a short garment and a wig covering his ears, a beard is shown as a painted strip on his jaw. The body is painted red, the whites and the garment are white, the wig, eyebrows, eyelids and pupils are black. This may be an image of a brewer stirring mash in a pot. Height= 12.5 (cm) Note Preservation: The left arm and the nose tip are lost. The surface is weathered, pigments are partly lost. | |
